Documentation & Export

Learn about the documents involved in exporting a vehicle from Japan and clearing customs.

1

Export certificate and deregistration

Before export, your vehicle must be deregistered in Japan. The Japanese government then issues an Export Certificate. We handle this entire process on your behalf as soon as your payment reaches Step 4 (Payment Confirmation).

2

Receiving your Bill of Lading (B/L)

The Bill of Lading (B/L) is the most important document—you cannot claim your car without it. Once the ship departs Japan, the shipping line issues the B/L. We will then courier the original B/L, Export Certificate, and Commercial Invoice directly to your registered address via DHL or FedEx.
